Oral Roberts University to host Oklahoma Society of Physiologists meeting

Oral Roberts University will host the 30th annual meeting of the Oklahoma Society of Physiologists (OSP) on Friday, June 3, 2011, on the third floor of the Graduate Center. Dr. Suzanne Vincent, ORU associate professor of biology, is coordinating the event.

Attendees will learn how physiology has helped health care professionals in their careers. Various speakers, such as epidemiologist Mary Williams of Oklahoma City, will give presentations in GC 3112. The luncheon speaker will be Stacey Knapp, a rural physician with the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine's Center for Rural Health. Teachers and professors are encouraged to bring a student and learn about the health profession.

Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., and awards will be given in a special ceremony at 2 p.m. on posters presented by local students from eighth through twelfth grades and undergraduate and graduate college students. Poster presenters are asked to email name and title of poster by May 20.
