Graduation Information

Commencement

Commencement will be held in the Mabee Center at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Rehearsal for commencement will be held in the Mabee Center at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 29, 2016. 

To be eligible to participate in commencement, your student account must be paid in full by April 1, 2016. Charges incurred after this deadline will be billed to you at a later date. Account balances will delay the mailing of your diploma as well as prohibit you from receiving transcripts.  Your balance with the library or telephone business center must be paid in full no later than April 1, 2016.

All students are required to Apply to Graduate on VISION.  By submitting your application you are notifying the Registrar's Office as well as your academic department of your intent to graduate. Students completing their course work in the fall must submit their Application no later than December 1.  After this date students who have completed their course work in the fall must submit a paper Application for Candidacy. Students must Apply to Graduate on VISION no later than April 1, 2016, if they want to be included in the Commencement Bulletin (program).  This includes those students who will be completing their course work in the summer of 2016.

In addition to applying to graduate, students with more than six hours of course work to complete in the summer must submit an Application to Participate in Commencement. This form may be downloaded from the office forms page on the registrar's web page.

Be sure to attend your Department Hooding Ceremony.  Please contact your academic department for additional information. A complete listing of Hooding Ceremony times and locations will be posted at a later date.

Graduation related activities and information, including regalia and graduation announcement pricing, as well as important dates and deadlines will be posted when available.

Legacy Parent Breakfast

A breakfast will be held on the morning of Saturday, April 30, 2016, for all Legacy Parents. Legacy Parents are ORU alumni whose sons and daughters are members of the Class of 2016. The breakfast will be held at 9:00 a.m. in the Conference and Events Center located in the south lobby of the Mabee Center. You may register for the breakfast by clicking here.


Student Loans

Federal regulations require all student loan borrowers (Stafford, Direct and Perkins) to complete an exit interview before graduating. Please check VISION for your loan types and amounts borrowed. Complete your Stafford/Direct Loan exit interviews online at https://studentloans.gov.  For Perkins Loans you must pick up an exit packet at the Student Loan Department. Incomplete exit interviews will create a hold on your academic records. if you have any questions you may contact the Student Loan Department at 918.495.6385.


December Graduates

You will be kept up to date on Commencement and Rehearsal as well as additional pertinent information concerning graduation as it becomes available.  Please be sure to update your address and phone information at the end of the fall semester.  Also, be sure to continue to check your ORU email account as that is where information will be directed.
