College of Nursing

Welcome Nursing Students

The Oral Roberts University Anna Vaughn College of Nursing was established as an expression of the charismatic concern upon which the University was founded: healing for the totality of human need. The school offers a baccalaureate program with a focus on nursing for the whole person. Nursing is viewed as a goal-directed service to assist the individual, family and/or community to promote, maintain and restore health.

The curriculum for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing provides a broad, general background for professional nursing and a foundation for specialization in graduate study. The program prepares the student to write the National Council of State Boards Examination for licensure as a registered nurse.

Upon completion of the B.S.N. curriculum, the student will be able to do the following:

  • Synthesize critical thinking skills for professional nursing practice
  • Communicate in a professional manner
  • Evaluate therapeutic nursing interventions within a pattern of professional practice
  • Demonstrate professional nursing practice in various roles and health care settings
