Governor Mary Fallin to Speak at ORU Commencement

Oral Roberts University (ORU) will hold its 44th commencement ceremonies on April 30th at 1 p.m. at the Mabee Center. The commencement speaker will be Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin.

Governor Fallin was elected November 2, 2010, during a historic election in which she became the first-ever female governor of Oklahoma. She was inaugurated on the steps of the Oklahoma Capitol as the state's 27th governor on January 10, 2011. Her career in public service began in 1990 with the Oklahoma House of Representatives. In 1994, Fallin became the first woman and first Republican to be elected lieutenant governor of Oklahoma for 12 years. Before being elected Governor, Fallin was elected to the U.S. Congress in 2006 where she represented the Fifth District of Oklahoma.

 Oral Roberts University will award 549 undergraduate, 129 graduate, and 13 doctoral students with degrees for the year of 2011 during this commencement.
