ORU Gospel Choir to Celebrate 40 Year Anniversary

The concert "Unquenched" will be held in ORU's Christ Chapel to celebrate this anniversary

The Oral Roberts University's (ORU) music ministry group Souls A' Fire Gospel Choir is celebrating its 40 year anniversary by holding a reunion concert titled, "Unquenched" in ORU's Christ Chapel on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 7 p.m. Souls A' Fire is the longest lasting music ministry group on the ORU campus.

There will be many featured musical artists present to commemorate Souls A' Fire existence such as Durward Davis (finalist on BET's Sunday Best), David Smith (former director of the Souls A' Fire for 15 years), Judith Christie McAllister (recording artist and president of the COGIC Music Department), Bishop Raphael Green (recording artist and founder of Metro Christian Worship Center St. Louis, Missouri), as well as all of the current Souls A' Fire Gospel Choir student members and many more.

The ORU Souls A' Fire, a music ministry group of the ORU International Worship Center, is a diverse and dynamic choir that delivers a repertoire ranging from classical anthems to the energetic sounds of contemporary gospel. They produce an original sound and style that has been inspiring audiences since 1971. Commissioned by Chancellor Oral Roberts to reach the inner city, Souls A' Fire has ministered on the ORU campus, in the Tulsa Community, throughout the nation and around the world.
