Annual Fun Run Uses New Fred Creek Trail

The annual Fun Run at Oral Roberts University took place around the newly renovated Fred Creek Trail last weekend. After the run the Student Association greeted students with protein bars and music. Along the route students and faculty cheered on running and walking students.

"There was nothing so rewarding as seeing friends embrace and cheer each other on after such hard work," said senior Michelle Mills after the run.

On the Saturday morning of the run, students wake up early on a Saturday morning and run to receive extra credit in a Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) class or they use their time to go towards the running field test.

For the past 20 years, ORU's Health and Fitness Department sponsors the Fun Run once a semester. When the Fun Run was first established, students ran three miles on the Riverside trail; it was not until five years ago that the Fun Run became a two-mile run.
