Getting a Head Start on Your Education

Are you one of those students who likes to get ahead in school? Are you college bound with a vision for your future? ORU's concurrent program may be just what you have been waiting for to jump start your college career.

A high school student who has not yet graduated from high school may be admitted to take classes when the following conditions exist:

  • The student must be a high school junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
  • The student must complete the Concurrent Student Application and submit it along with the Concurrent Student Approval form signed by the student's high school principal or guidance counselor
  • The student and parent(s) must meet with the Concurrent Student Advisor

Concurrent students may enroll in up to six pre-approved course hours per semester, and they must keep a minimum ORU cumulative GPA of 2.5 to continue enrollment at ORU. It's a great opportunity to take some courses while getting acclimated to the college experience.

Concurrent Classes are also Online

You may also enroll in online courses.  The courses are intense, eight week classes.  If you have time to devote to these classes, you can make significant progress toward the goal of earning a degree while you are still in high school.
