Earn a Degree Online in Less Than Four Years
Adult learners and non-traditional students appreciate the convenience and flexibility of ORU's Distance Learning. They also value the Christian worldview and purpose inherent in our courses - an approach that is rare on any campus, online or otherwise.
Through the Distance Learning, you can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Church Ministries or Leadership Studies (a degree completion program for those who have a degree program underway). Each course was developed in conjunction with ORU's fully credentialed on-campus faculty. Often, the same professors who teach the subject on ORU's campus teach courses for the online campus. Adjunct professors with a master's degree or above lead others.
Starting with the Fall 2009 semester, degree programs will be available entirely online. As a student, you will complete most coursework related to your major within the first two years of study, so you will gain knowledge you can use immediately to enhance your career skills. After the first year, you will earn a framable certificate in Foundations of Business Administration or Church Ministries. After your second year, you will earn a second certificate in Practical Skills in your field of study. Then, when you complete the full program, you will receive your degree through campus graduation ceremonies.
Through the program, you take two online classes at a time, and can enroll any time before an eight-week session begins. The program runs year-round.
In addition to the above programs, the Distance Learning also includes the Online Bible Institute, a certificate program under the direction of Dr. Paul King. This convenient program that does not award college credit, offers in-depth training in ministries and theology.
The Center for Israel and Middle East Studies, under the direction of Dr. John Swails offers an immersion into the cultural and theological issues of the Middle East. In addition to online learning, the program offers opportunities for international travel.
