The
stairs are
located in the center
of the library area.
At
the top of the stairs
you will find the Circulation
Desk on one side and
the New Book/Leisure
Areas on the other side.

New
Books are displayed
in an area opposite
the Circulation/Reserve
Desk (at the top of
the stairs).
The Leisure
Reading Area
displays new "fiction"
books.
The
area is set up to allow
you an opportunity to
browse ORU's new books.

What
is LIL?
It
is the Library
Instructional Lab (LIL),
which is located inside
the Reference Room,
4th floor LRC. LIL has
24 computers to provide
you with "hands-on"
instruction sessions
as requested by your
professors. Workshops
are also offered in
LIL. The room is closed
except for scheduled
sessions and workshops.

Electronic
Resources
Center (ERC):
Do
you need to do research? Visit
the ERC, which houses computers
with Internet access. Search the
online catalog, databases, and
the WWW. Printing is available
for a small fee.
If
you have questions or
need research assistance,
inquire at the Reference
Desk located at the
entrance to the ERC
and Periodicals Area.

Periodicals
Area
To read the latest issues of
a popular magazine or a journal,
browse the current bins along
the wall in the periodicals area.
Current titles are arranged alphabetically
by title. You will also find bound
periodicals, microforms, and newspapers
in this area.

The
Reference Room
contains books that cover
all subject areas including
subject and general dictionaries,
encyclopedias, handbooks
and more. It is a good
place to begin your research.
Materials in the Reference
cannot be taken out into
the main area of the library.

Circulation
Desk: Check-out,
renew, and return books
and other library materials.
Get directions.
Reserves:
A professor's personal
materials, or circulating
materials, may be placed
on reserve at the request
of a faculty member. Loan
periods range from 1 hours
to 4 days. Check-out reserves
at this desk (or check
online if the item you
need has been put on eReserve).
