Getting the Book - Interlibrary
Loan
Interlibrary Loan provides
you with an option to
get books and other
library materials that
it does not own. Library
materials are frequently
borrowed and loaned
between libraries.
See if your local library
owns the title you need.
(Search the local library
catalog and/or WorldCat,
as explained on the
previous page.)
If the title is not
available at your local
library and is at ORU,
ask the local public
library to request the
title from ORU through
Interlibrary Loan. Ask
the borrowing library
to put the following
note in the “Borrowing
Notes” line of
the interlibrary loan
request: ORU Distance
Learner.
If a title you need
is not available at
ORU (you may have found
titles of interest in
WorldCat), your public
library may be able
to request materials
for you through their
Interlibrary Loan. You
do not need to provide
them with a location,
just complete citation
information.
Using a local library will save you time,
money and postage. Additionally, the lending
time will most likely be longer.
