Print copies of theses, dissertations and Dr. of Ministry projects by ORU students, are shelved in a special area in Reference Room, LRC-4th floor. Additionally, the later two are available free full text online (ORU Novell login required for access).

The Library catalog provides bibliographic information, including the call number, and a link to free full text online (in Dissertations and Theses @ ORU, see below), when available.
Note: Older works, such as those from the 1980's, have not been digitized and are only accessible in print format.

Search: Choose Subject Keyword > type applied research projects > browse the result list. Or, use Advanced Search to enter applied research projects and other search terms, such as author and title keyword.

Once you find a work:

• Record the call number to locate the print copy in the Reference Room.
• Or, click the full text link in the record.

 

Search Dissertations and Theses @ Oral Roberts University

Provides free online access to dissertations and theses submitted by Oral Roberts University and published in Dissertation Abstracts database. Includes abstracts, 24-page previews, and full text in PDF format, when available. more info...

Theses/Dissertations/Applied Research Projects in this database are included in the ORU Library Catalog (with full text links provided). However, there are more search options available in the database than in the catalog.

Dissertation Abstracts Online (Abstracts)	Every doctoral dissertation completed in the U.S. at accredited institutions for the last 150 years. Includes Canadian, British, and other European dissertations and theses. Over 1,560,000 records. Updated monthly. 1861-present (abstracts since 1980; thesis abstracts since 1988). Searching available by appointment only.  Complete the Dissertation Abstracts Search Request. PsycINFO	(Abstracts) Includes more than 266,000 dissertation abstracts. Limited to Dissertation Abstracts International Section A: Humanities and Social Sciences.
Search: Under " Limit your results" for "Publication Type" choose "Dissertation Abstract."
ERIC EBSCOhost ERIC FirstSearch	(Abstracts and full text) Includes citations and abstracts of more than 8,880 dissertations related to the fields of education with 3,250 available in full text.
Search: On the Refine Search tab, limit your results to Publication Type "Dissertations/Theses (all)" or other appropriate option.	Refer to the Thesaurus of ERIC Descriptors (also available in print, all number Z695.1.E3.E34, LRC-R). The thesaurus contains more than 10,700 vocabulary terms for education and includes narrower terms, broader terms, and related terms.
Dissertations & Theses @Oral Roberts University	(Abstracts and full text) Provides abstract and full text for ORU dissertations and theses published after 1996, with ORU D.Min. research projects only prior to 1996. Provides abstracts and 24 page previews for each dissertation title in the database published after 1996.
Search: Author, keyword, and title searches for citations and abstracts of dissertations and theses submitted by participating institutions.
RIM® ( Research in Ministry)	http://rim.atla.com/star/rimonline_login.htm A freely available database that indexes D.Min. and D.Miss. projects from reporting schools of theology accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada. Indexing began in 1981... an abstract for each project is included when one has been provided by the author."
Search: Author, title, project advisor, institution, and subject access are provided.
WorldCat Dissertations	(Abstracts) Includes more than 5 million cataloged dissertations, theses and published material based on theses and dissertations to the present. Many are available electronically, at no charge, directly from the publishing institution; some are available through interlibrary loan.

A global digital library of electronic theses and dissertations (EDs).
Search: Select "NDLTD sites" or use the "Federated Searcher" feature to perform parallel queries across several dozen NDLTD search sites. Offers simple keyword search fields such as author, title and subject in addition to Expert Search functionality.

Over 7,800 theological theses/dissertation titles from 70 different institutions. No abstracts available.
Search: Choose "Search & Order." Searches for title, author, and subject are keyword not exact phrases.
