Librarian's TIP : Locate an "Essay" in
the ATLA Religion Database

The ATLA Religion Database indexes more than
210,000 essays in addition to articles and book
reviews. Essays are part of "multi-authored
works" (i.e. books) and are not found in
journals. If an essay citation appears in your
result list, to locate the essay search the
ORU Library catalog, or other library catalog,
for the "book" title.
The sample search below shows the results
from a query in the ATLAS Religion database
for "Old Testament" and
