-
For in-depth assistance on a variety of topics see the Library Guides.
-
See the Library FAQs for answers to frequently asked questions.
-
If you have a question about your library transactions (overdue items, fines, recalled books, etc.) Use the My Account section of the ORU Library Catalog to check your library transactions or contact Circulation.
-
For distance learners, we offer library services specifically for you.
If you are unable to locate the information you are needing, you can Ask a Librarian:
In Person:
During the library's scheduled hours, the Reference Desk (located on the fourth floor of the Learning Resource Center) is available to help you use the library. We can help you locate resources, guide you through the research process, and teach you how to use the ORU's online public access catalog (PAC), print reference material, or research databases. We can also refer you to resources outside our library when necessary. Appointments can be made for more lengthy consultations. There are advantages to coming in person.
By Phone:
The Reference Desk is available by phone for quick facts or information about the collection. Please note that we always give preference to those who visit the library in person. When you call, we may be busy helping other patrons and may have to return your call. If you will leave a message, we will return your call as soon as possible. To reach the Reference Desk call: 918-495-6887.
By Email:
The ORU Library also offers reference assistance by email to current ORU faculty, staff and students. Email questions require short, specific answers. For example, we can:
-
verify bibliographic citation information
-
look up addresses and phone numbers of companies
-
locate brief census data or biographical information
We are unable to answer questions by email such as:
Please complete the Ask-a-Librarian email form. Questions will be retrieved Monday through Friday. Reponses generally will be sent within two working days.
