REGISTRATION STEPS – UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
GETTING STARTED
Step 1 – Class Scheduling
New Students – After you have been admitted to ORU you will be contacted by the Comprehensive Advisement Center (CAC) to confirm your major and a proposed class schedule. You may mail revisions to the CAC:
- By fax – To the CAC @ (918) 495-7879.
- In Person – You may visit the CAC on the ORU campus, where there are advisors available to help you with your schedule. The CAC is located in the LRC on the 5 th Floor. Call (918) 495-7018 to schedule a time to meet with an advisor.
Returning Students – You may schedule your classes online using VISION.
Step 2 – Housing / Board
Housing/Commuter Code – All undergraduate students must obtain a housing or commuter code in accordance with the ORU Housing Eligibility policy. You may obtain the necessary forms below:
- Housing Contracts:
- Room Deposits and Housing Contracts may be submitted:
- Online – You may pay your room deposit by credit card using VISION . . . under WebCT.com, The e-learning hub, select Make a Payment.
- By Email – You may submit your completed contract to the Housing office at housing@oru.edu.
- By phone - You may pay your room deposit by credit card with Student Accounts @ (918) 495-6370.
- By Fax – You may fax your completed contract to the Housing office at (918) 495-7667 (Your room assignment cannot be made until your deposit has been received).
- By Mail – You may submit your completed housing contract and room deposit to the Admissions office by mail

- In Person – You may submit your completed housing contract and room deposit to the Admissions office in person on campus.
- Room Assignments – Your room assignment will be mailed to you (if you do not receive your assignment please contact the ORU housing office @ (918) 495-7711). If you have any additional questions you may e-mail the Housing office at housing@oru.edu.
- Address Verification – You may verify your address information on VISION . . . under Student Services & Financial Aid, select “Registration Steps.”
- Meal Plan – You may select a meal plan each semester on VISION. . . under Student Services & Financial Aid, select “Registration Steps.” (A meal plan is required for all students living on campus). You may choose from the following options:
- Carte Blanche: Unlimited Meals in the cafeteria
No Sodexho Bucks
- 17 Meal Plan: 17 meals per week in the cafeteria
$200 Sodexho Bucks which can be used at any food service location on campus.
- 14 Meal Plan: 14 meals per week in the cafeteria
$250 Sodexho Bucks which can be used at any food service location on campus.
- 10 Meal Plan: 10 meals per week in the cafeteria
$350 Sodexho Bucks which can be used at any food service location on campus.
Step 3 - Financial Aid / Student Accounts
Go to the FAFSA website to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Your financial aid file must be complete in order to validate and may be completed:
- Online – You may complete some of the necessary steps on VISION . . . under Student Services & Financial Aid, select “Financial Aid.”
- You may apply for alternative loans.
- You may apply for scholarships and grants
- You may accept or decline awards (scholarships, grants, or loans)
- You may view your current status of financial aid
- By Phone – You may call Financial Aid @ (918) 495-6510 to check the status of your financial aid file.
- By Mail – You may mail all necessary documents to:

- In Person – You may stop by the Financial Aid office on ORU campus. Financial Aid is located in the GC on 3 ½ W.
- Applying for Loans
- Tuition Payments – You may pay your tuition
- Online – You may submit payments online using one of the following options: (Visa, Master Card or Discover accepted)
- Student Payment Option I – Current students may view and make payment on their student account Online @ VISION. . . under WebCT.com, The e-learning hub, select Make a Payment.
- Online Payment Option II – Anyone with access to the student’s ID number may submit payments to the student’s account online without a password here. Detailed account information and balance due are not available when you pay using this option.
- In Person – You may submit payments @ Student Accounts on the ORU campus. Student Accounts is located in the GC on 2 ½ W.
- By Mail – You may submit payments by mail. To avoid delay in validation please make checks payable to ORU and mail no later than two weeks before the start of the semester to:

- Insurance Verification – All full-time students must provide proof of health insurance coverage or enroll in the ORU Student Health Plan @ the Student Resources Website or by calling (800) 237-0903.
- Online – You may update your insurance information at VISION . . . under Student Services & Financial Aid, select “Registration Steps.”
- By Mail – You may update your insurance information by mailing a copy of your health insurance card (front and back) and the Health Insurance Statement Form to:

- By Fax – You may update your insurance information by faxing a copy of your health insurance card (front and back) and the Health Insurance Statement Form to (918) 495-7187.
Please Print a copy of the Student Financial Contract to sign and return to Student Accounts.
Please print and read a copy of the Tuition Refund Policy Form for your records.
If a balance is remaining from a prior term, you may be eligible to pay with current loan funds. If applicable, please print a copy of the Prior Balance Agreement
All accounts are due and payable prior to the first day of class for each semester. Payments may be made with cash, check, money order or verifiable financial aid.
Step 4 – Student Health Requirements
All new students must submit a complete Medical Assessment Form, dated no earlier than one year before enrollment.
- The Medical Assessment includes the following:
- Medical History
- Physical Examination
- Physician’s Recommendation for Exercise
- Immunization Records - All full-time and/or residential students must be immunized against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B and Meningitis. In order to comply with this they must submit the results of their:
- DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis) Series Immunization
- Polio Immunization
- Tuberculosis Test (PPD-Mantoux)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Immunization
- Hepatitis B or A/B Vaccine
- Positive Blood Titer Test
- Meningococcal Vaccination
- The Medical Assessment Form may be submitted:
- By Fax – You may submit your completed medical assessment by faxing it to (918) 495-6274.
- In Person – You may submit your completed medical assessment in person at Student Health Services on the ORU campus. Student Health Services is located in Hamill Student Center on the basement floor just behind the Student Association office.
- By Mail – You may submit your completed medical assessment by mailing it to:

Step 5– Validation
It is a requirement that you be validated to complete the Registration process. When you have completed all of the previous steps you may be validated.
- Online – You may validate online using VISION. (If you owe money or are on the TMS Plan skip to the next option). . . under Student Services & Financial Aid, select “Registration Steps.”
- In Person – You may validate at Student Accounts (If you owe money or are on the TMS Plan you must validate with Student Accounts). Student Accounts is located in the GC on 2 ½ W
CHECKING IN – The Harbor August 11-13, 2006 (New Student Orientation)
Step 1 – Dorm
If you have a room assignment you may pick up your room key in the lobby of your dorm 7:00 AM on the first day of orientation.
Step 2 – CPO
You may obtain your CPO box combination from the Campus Post Office anytime the first week of classes or at the CPO table in the GC during registration. The CPO is located on the south wing of the first floor of EMR.
YOU MUST BE VALIDATED TO PROCEED FROM HERE!!!!
Step 3 – Campus Access
Student ID Card – You must obtain a Student ID card (Eagle Card) from the Eagle Card Center located on the 3rd floor of the LRC
Parking Pass - If you have a vehicle or bicycle you must obtain a parking pass from the Security Office located in the Hamill Student Center on the north side of the ground floor.
Long Distance Telephone Access – If you need access to call long distance from campus phones you may obtain a PAC code at the telephone center located in the GC on 5 ½ W.
