Whether or not you will need to take any standardized test to receive your Masters degree depends upon what field you choose to pursue.
The School of Business does not require any standardized test scores for admittance. However, a student may choose to take the National Field Test or Graduate Record Examination to qualify for academic scholarships.
The School of Education requires that students wanting to come to ORU for their Masters degrees take either the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). A student must receive a minimum score of 400 on the MAT or a minimum score of 800 on the GRE to be considered. In addition, the school prefers that a student have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0.
The School of Theology & Missions requires that students wanting to come to ORU for their Masters degrees take either the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Although the school looks at a student’s entire application package, the School of Theology & Missions prefers that a student receive at least a 392 on the MAT and a combined total of 900 on the GRE (combined scores of quantitative and verbal sections). Because the school itself requires analytical thinking and reason, the school prefers the MAT. If a student has already completed a Masters degree at an alternative accredited institution, the student does not have to take the MAT or GRE.
International students who did not receive their bachelors’ degrees from English speaking universities must take the TOEFL instead of the MAT or GRE.
