HAL DONALDSON

Hal Donaldson is co-founder and president of Convoy of Hope, Inc., a non-profit organization that leads humanitarian initiatives across the United States and around the world. Through Convoy of Hope, millions of families in need have received groceries, medical and dental screenings, job opportunities, and more. More than $500 million worth of food and supplies has been distributed to over 50 million people. In the months following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti Convoy of Hope distributed 9 million meals, 4,000 water filtration units, and 80,000 doses of cholera medicine. Convoy of Hope also has 122,000 children in its nutrition program. In 2009, he received the National Distinguished Service in Social Welfare Award.

An award-winning journalist, and popular speaker, Hal is also the author of more than 30 books, including Midnight in the City, which chronicles his journey to eight American cities. He traveled with the police on the midnight shift and walked the streets interviewing drug addicts, gang members, prostitutes, runaways and the homeless.

Hal has a B.A. in Journalism from San Jose State University and a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Bethany University, where he formerly served as an instructor and was honored as Alumnus of the Year. Hal is a member of the board of directors National Association of Evangelicals. In 2008, Hal joined the Board of Trustees of Oral Roberts University. His wife, Doree, is an accomplished pianist, having received her Masters Degree from the University of Missouri, K.C., Conservatory of Music. They have four daughters: Lindsay, Erin-Rae, Lauren and Haly.
