Dr. Dominic Halsmer
Dean of the School of Science and Engineering

B.S., Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Purdue University, 1985

M.S., Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Purdue University, 1986

Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering, UCLA, 1992

During his education, Dr. Halsmer gained two years of experience with The Aerospace Corporation, and six years of experience with the Space and Communications Group of Hughes Aircraft Company, both of El Segundo, California. He specializes in spacecraft attitude dynamics and control, particularly spinning, thrusting spacecraft.

In the fall of 1992, Dr. Halsmer joined the faculty of the Engineering and Physics Department at Oral Roberts University. In 1996 and 1997 he participated in the NASA/ASEE Summer Faculty Fellowship Program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His research activities have involved undergraduate engineering students in the development of an apparatus to test the stability of spinning spacecraft under thrust. Dr. Halsmer currently serves as a professor of engineering and Dean of the School of Science and Engineering at Oral Roberts University. He is a Professional Engineer, registered in the State of Oklahoma. His current research involves a study of how the universe has been engineered to reveal the glory of God, and accomplish His purposes.
