New Friends, New Place—a Brand-New Adventure

"ORU is based around helping you discover how important it is to implement God's plan in your life. "Students learn things they can use in their communities. It's cool to be able to serve, and ORU has a passion about service. Learning is not just about yourself but also for other people and the community." Josh Weed Tulsa, OK Engineering major |
When you are a new student at ORU, we do everything possible to help you make a smooth transition to living away from home. It begins with ARISE, our new student orientation, that takes place a few days before the start of school, and continues through the fall semester with opportunities in Blueprint, our freshman leadership program and Beta Groups, a student orientation experience for meeting new people.
The Student Association hosts a number of events to kick off the semester as well, such as Partiestival, in which all students are invited to play games, enjoy great food and hang out. Dorm residents will become acquainted with their brother and sister wings and commuter students will form Sodalites.
The campus abounds in ways to get involved, but one difference you'll notice right away is the emphasis on Whole Person growth and development. Come expecting to be transformed through experiences that mold the mind, body and spirit. Here you can find your mission in life and the tools you'll need to fulfill it.
