Dining

The Kitchen Table

Though Mom's home cooking can never be replaced, most alums will tell you that the ORU cafeteria serves as the place where many great conversations happen, ideas are born and friendships are established.  Dormitory wings and their corresponding brother/sister wings have designated spaces they can use to eat and socialize.  And a student committee works with the cafeteria staff to insure that students' requests and feedback are heard.  Dining options within the caferia include everything from the traditional grill to deli-style sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, salads and a salad bar, an array of cereals, pizza and pastas, and Asian, Mexican and specialty cuisines, all served cafeteria-style with plenty of options available.

In additon to the Cafeteria, you'll find these delicious dining options around campus presented by Sodexo Food Services:

  • Hava Java, serving coffee and drinks on weekdays from the Learning Resources Center 3rd floor

Meal Plan Options

A meal plan is required for all students living on campus.  Students can select from five different options to fit their specific needs for that particular semester.  the plans all cost the same and are described below:

  1. Carte Blanche/All You Can Eat meals each week in the Cafeteria, as many times as you want
  2. 17 meals per week in the Cafeteria, plus $200 in "Sodexo Bucks" per semester to be used in any Sodexo location around campus
  3. 14 meals per week in the Cafeteria, plus $250 in Sodexo Bucks per semester
  4. 10 meals per week in the Cafeteria, plus $350 in Sodexo Bucks per semester
  5. 7 meals per week in the Cafeteria, plus $500 in Sodexo Bucks per semester

How It Works

At the beginning of each semester, students living in the dorms must select a meal plan, and commuter students may purchase a block of meals.  Most meal plans as shown above qualify the student to some amount of Sodexo Bucks to be used at on campus dining options.  Eagle Bucks may also be added to a student's account to pay for meals as well as other on-campus expenses. Eagle Bucks may be used not only on campus, but at select off-campus sites as well.
