Students Learn to Use Healthcare Skills in Missions Efforts

A group of 15 biology and chemistry students attended the annual Global Missions Health Conference at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Ky. Nov. 12-14. The conference highlighted current trends in missions healthcare including the latest in the fight against HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, maternal mortality, and human trafficking. Attendees were challenged to participate in both long- and short-term missions, using medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and nursing as avenues to care for a hurting world and reach the lost for Christ. The students were able to network with various missions organizations and learn about opportunities to serve the unreached through healthcare. This trip was partially funded by the ORU biology alumni.
