HPER Professor to be Physical Activity Consultant to Head Start Center

Nancy Mankin, health, physical education, and recreation instructor, has been selected to serve as a Physical Activity Consultant through the National Association for Sport and Physical Education. This program uses grant money to fund equipment and training at Head Start Centers nationwide. Mankin has been partnered with the Head Start Center in Tulsa and will be making three site visits to observe and note strengths and areas for growth or improvement on outdoor play and physical activity. She will then meet with the staff at this center to discuss her findings and be available for follow-up and questions they may have in the future. As a part of this program, Mankin will go through Web training, online courses, and a national training session in March 2010.
