Providing Drinking Water for Those in Need

Dr. Robert Stewart, chemistry professor, and senior biology student Melissa Brown continue their research with Dominion Farms and Oklahoma State University in the development of methods to purify drinking water in third world countries. They are developing tests for water to measure dangerous bacterial contaminates and are working on sedimentation and filtration methods to purify dirty water to make it drinkable. Dominion Farms is a nonprofit missionary outreach to underdeveloped countries that aims to take helpful technology to those countries. OSU and ORU are partnering with DF to achieve this goal. The work on water purification will be published in Melissa Brown's senior paper and will be used as part of a curriculum to train volunteers going to the mission field.
