ORU Professor Announced as Finalist for Outstanding Dissertation Award

Charlene MartinOral Roberts University Assistant Professor to the College of Education Charlene Martin was one of nine finalists announced for the International Reading Association (IRA) Outstanding Dissertation Award.

Martin’s work was evaluated by the IRA Outstanding Dissertation Award Committee through a blind-review process.  As a finalist, she was invited to participate in a poster session at the annual IRA Convention to showcase her research. 

The IRA is comprised of over 60,000 members. The organization is considered by many industry leaders to be the world’s leading organization for literacy proficiency.

“Being among the nine finalists for the IRA Outstanding Dissertation Award is a huge accomplishment,” said Kim Boyd, dean of the ORU College of Education. “This honor not only recognizes Charlene’s hard work, but also the significant implications her research could have on the literacy industry.”
