ORU Enactus Named Top Ten Business Program Nationally

ORU Enactus TeamAfter winning the Enactus regional competition in April, Oral Roberts University’s Enactus chapter placed in the top ten at the national exposition in Kansas City, Mo. The team placed sixth overall in the competition.

“We are proud of each student that participated in the national exposition,” said Enactus Faculty Advisor and Dean of ORU’s College of Business Dr. Steve Greene. “They represented ORU with excellence and made a significant impact in the Tulsa community.”

The national competition allowed ORU business students to showcase their collective impact and community outreach efforts. Students presented their projects to business leaders serving as judges. The teams were then ranked according to their success at utilizing business concepts to enable progress through entrepreneurial action.

ORU’s Enactus chapter was heavily involved in the Tulsa community this past year. Throughout the 2012-2013 school year students raised over 50,000 pounds of food for the hungry, taught underprivileged children how to read and initiated the first-ever national conference for young burn survivors between the ages of 15 and 20.

Enactus is an international non-profit organization that brings together student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world. The organization has a presence in approximately 1600 university campuses located in 38 countries across the world.
