Business Students Rank 17th Internationally in Online Competition

A team of business students tied for 17th place in the world for the week of Dec. 7-13 in the online competition the Business Strategy Game (BSG). Students from Dr. Marshal Wright's management simulation class took part in the BSG, "an online exercise where class members are divided into teams and assigned the task of running an athletic footwear company in head-to-head competition against companies managed by other class members," according to their Web site. Teams from universities around the world take part in the competition and all aspects of the game parallel the real-world athletic footwear market.

This exercise gives students a glimpse into what doing business in a real global economy is like. Each week the BSG teams are graded on four different criteria and the top 100 teams are honored. The week of Dec. 7-13 there were 1,355 teams from 103 colleges and universities competing worldwide.
