ORU Students to Perform "Hello Dolly!"
The Oral Roberts University music and theater department premiered a spectacular performance of "Hello Dolly!" The play was held in the newly renovated Howard Auditorium. This building recently received new acoustic wall panels, fresh carpet and paint, new stage lighting as well as bathroom and ticket office renovations. A new sound system and booth were also installed last fall.
“Hello Dolly!” first débuted on Broadway in 1964. The charming musical focuses on matchmaker, Dolly Levi, played by ORU senior Kelsey Carroll. Levi, a widow, finds herself in love with Yonkers merchant Horace Vandergelder and proceeds to weave a web of romantic complications.
“The students have been working extremely hard to perfect their portrayal of this heartwarming musical,” said “Hello Dolly!” Director Laura Holland. “The results are truly stunning. Audiences are sure to be thrilled as they see this captivating story unfold before their eyes.”
