Developing Whole Leaders for the whole World

New Arts and Cultural Studies Professors

Tulsa OK – Oral Roberts University’s College of Arts and Cultural Studies is excited to welcome four new professors. Three of them will teach in Communication Arts. The other started teaching in the Music Department in the spring.

Katherine Kelley, Ph.D. is teaching communication classes. She most recently taught at Fort Hays State University. She graduated from the University Katherine Kelley, Ph.D.of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She earned her Master’s Degree in Communication from Pepperdine University where she also taught after earning her M.A. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Kelley says she is thrilled to be back in Tulsa where she grew up listening to Oral Roberts.

 

Linda RoyallLinda Royall is teaching journalism along with being the faculty director for ORU’s student newspaper, The Oracle, and the Perihelion yearbook. Royall did her doctoral studies in strategic communication and journalism at Regent University where she also earned her Bachelor of Arts. She holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Georgetown University. Royall taught at Cisco College in Abilene, Texas for four years. She has also worked as a journalist in Washington D.C.

 

Christina Woodrow-Schneider
Christina Woodrow-Schneider is the new Director of Dance. She’s teaching Modern Technique, Dance History, Choreography, Ensemble and Senior Performance. She holds an MFA in Performing Arts-Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BA in Dance Performance from ORU. Her work seeks to explore how our connection to movement cultivates our spirit, mind and body. She believes dance, as both practice and performance, has life-giving potential.

 

 
Michelle Eiler, D.M.A.Canadian soprano Michelle Eiler, D.M.A. joins ORU’s Music Department this fall as Assistant Professor of Voice after serving as an adjunct voice instructor since 2014. She holds graduate degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Brandon University. This year Eiler celebrated her Carnegie Hall debut on the Weill Recital Hall stage. She was featured as a song artist on Sir Thomas Allen’s Masterclass, part of Marilyn Horne’s 2016 Song Celebration series. Eiler also received the 2015 inaugural Marilyn Horne Performance Award at OU. Eiler teaches Voice and Opera Theatre and will serve as musical director for the 2017 Musical Theatre production.
