ORU Welcomes Alumna to College of Education

Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University is excited to announce one of its newest faculty members. Amanda Wilson, Ed.D. joins ORU’s College of Education where she also earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2003.

Dr. Wilson taught first and third grades before pursuing her master’s degree in reading. It was her love of literacy that inspired her to go from teaching elementary children to training future educators.

Dr. Wilson worked at ORU as a graduate assistant and adjunct professor while completing her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. She often shares her extensive literacy knowledge at national conferences and with literacy educators seeking professional development. She has traveled to Japan to teach literacy, and this past summer, she was also privileged to teach students in Columbia, Mexico and El Salvador thanks to technology that enabled them to connect.

Dr. Wilson says she hopes her students will experience the same Spirit-empowered education and transformation she experienced while being a student in ORU’s College of Education.
