Wilson as the new chair of the Pentecostal World Fellowship (PWF) at the 25th Pentecostal World Conference in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on August 30, 2019. Dr. Wilson previously served as an executive committee member of the organization, whose mission is to “unite and mobilize the global Spirit-filled family in completing the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.”

“It is a significant honor to take on this role to officially represent the Spirit-empowered community around the globe,” said Dr. Wilson. “I look forward to continuing to build alliances, connect Spirit-filled leaders, and foster world missions as we have been doing through Empowered21.”

“ORU is honored to have our President be recognized and serve in this leadership role in such a global and historic organization,” said Dr. Mike Rakes, ORU Board of Trustees Chair. “We are proud of Dr. Wilson to be named alongside the likes of Dr. Thomas Zimmerman, Dr. Ray Hughes, Dr. Thomas Trask, Bishop James Leggett, and Dr. Prince Guneratnam, all of whom served as past chairs for PWF. This is good news for ORU.”

This assignment for Dr. Wilson will continue to extend the energy and reach of ORU’s Spirit-empowered ethos to the uttermost bounds of the earth. The Pentecostal World Fellowship is composed of over 60 denominations and ministries and holds conferences once every three years.
