Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University students will fan out across the city of Tulsa
Saturday, April 6, 2019, as part of the university’s annual Spring Outreach. The students
will host four block parties in the Tulsa area with games and activities for children
and their families, provide lunch, and even host professional workshops such Résumé
Building, Parenting 101, Men’s Discipleship, and Community Resourcing: How to Meet
and Fulfill Needs Within our Community.
“We just want to show love to people living in the Tulsa area,” said Andrea Hyre who
directs ORU Missions and Outreach. “Every week students participate in volunteer activities
with various non-profit organizations, but Spring Outreach allows more of our students
to participate and give back to the community.”
The block parties begin at 11am and generally end by 2pm. Here is a list of the areas
of Tulsa that will be served this year.
o West Tulsa Boys and Girls Club at 2143 S. Olympia Ave.
o Zion Community Church (The Zone Academy) at 5400 Charles Page Blvd
o MTAG Burmese Soccer at Victory Church fields at 7600 S. Wheeling
o Tulsa Youth Works at 2750 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
