Tulsa, OK – This is an educational event you won’t want to miss as Oral Roberts University’s College of Education Master Class presents Women Educators At the Top. As part of its homecoming celebration, ORU will host four dynamic female Oklahoma superintendents in a panel discussion about their unique perspectives on the role of educational leadership and their visions for the future of education.

“Perhaps for the first time in the history of Oklahoma public education, Tulsa, Jenks, Owasso, Sand Springs, and Broken Arrow Public Schools are led by female superintendents,” said Kim Boyd, Ed.D., ORU’s Dean of the College of Education. “We are excited that four of these five women will be joining us to talk about why they chose to serve as leaders in education, the most significant challenges they face, and their visions for the future of education.”

Taking place two days after the close of an Oklahoma election season that saw spirited and energetic emphasis on education, the panel discussion, moderated by Boyd, will include Jenks Superintendent Stacey Butterfield, Ed.D., Owasso Superintendent Amy Fichtner, Ed.D., Sand Springs Superintendent Sherry Durkee, M.A.Sc., and Tulsa Superintendent Deborah Gist, Ed.D. It promises to be enlightening and informative as Oklahoma looks ahead to implementing its citizens’ educational mandates.
