Intramural Field ConstructionTulsa, OK – Construction is underway on the Oral Roberts University Intramural Sports Complex. The new fields are being developed on the southeast corner of 81st and Lewis.

The complex includes a softball diamond, soccer pitch, two sand volleyball courts, and a multi-purpose field that will accommodate football, lacrosse, rugby, and soccer. Bleacher seating, restrooms, and parking are also part of the development.

“ORU students love to stay active and enjoy a variety of sports,” said ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson. “These new fields will enhance the student experience, providing a great way for them to be physically disciplined and earn their aerobic points while also having fun and building community.”

Intramurals are one of ORU students’ most popular activities, and a long-standing tradition on the campus. In the past, students played outdoor intramurals on a variety of open spaces on campus, but this will provide them a dedicated area to compete in some of the most spirited competitions between dorm wings and floors.

ORU also recently added a competitive rugby club. Earlier this year, the ORU Rugby team played several games against other universities, including John Brown and Pittsburgh State.

The facility will also be available for use by CityPlex Towers tenants for teambuilding activities, company gatherings, picnics, and fundraisers.
