Tulsa, OK – During this Easter season, Oral Roberts University is providing a great opportunity for families to experience what Christians around the world celebrate: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Students in the Undergraduate Theology and Ministry department have designed a Journey to the Cross in the ORU Prayer Tower. The theme this year is “Rooted”. Those who take the journey will gain a better understanding of Jesus’s roots.

“God used some pretty interesting, unqualified, and even scandalous people to build the human lineage of Jesus’s family tree,” says Theology Professor Kerry Loescher. “Then God turns it around to invite us to put down deep roots in what matters most—our relationship with Him.”

The journey is a multi-sensory, interactive, sacred space where people can participate in the story of Jesus. It’s not designed to be a museum where one looks and cannot touch. The goal is for people to participate and experience!

Nearly 2200 people, including children and grandparents, experienced the Journey to the Cross last year. It runs from March 26 through April 9 and is free. The event is open to the public Monday through Saturday from noon to 5pm.
