Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University Theatre department welcomes actor Matt Bittner to campus on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Bittner will teach an acting masterclass in technique and character development.

Bittner is an ORU alumnus who has starred in the Tony-nominated Broadway play “Present Laughter”, Up Here (La Jolla), Much Ado (The Public), and several others. Currently he is playing character Ned Schneebly in the Broadway Tour of “School of Rock”. The musical is currently on tour in Oklahoma City.

Based on the hit film, the Broadway musical, “School of Rock” follows Dewy Finn, an immature wannabe Rockstar who is living out of friend Ned Schneebly’s basement. However, after posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious preparatory school, Dewey is able to fulfill his Rockstar dreams by turning his classroom full of perfectionistic eleven-year-olds into a group of rebellious, guitar-shredding rockers. Along the way he falls for the school’s uptight, strict headmistress.  It is the humorous story of unlikely love with several mind-blowing guitar solos along the way.

Bittner will bring a unique perspective to the ORU theater department through his current acting experiences. Students are sure to gain valuable knowledge from this day of acting immersion through action and practice.

ORU’s last masterclass provided some great visuals and sound so please consider joining us for a fun feature.
