Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University is launching a new scholarship program to help international students attend ORU. Supplementing the University’s current Quest Whole Person Scholarship, the International Quest Whole Person Scholarship will help those students coming from around the world to receive a Spirit-empowered, whole person education.

“We have students from over 100 nations, but they don’t have the same financial support provided to many of our U.S. students through federal loans and grants,” said Dr. William M. Wilson, ORU President. “The International Quest Whole Person Scholarship will help bridge that gap and allow ORU to welcome even more students from every tribe, language, people, and nation.”

Dr. Wilson announced the scholarship program during a chapel honoring Oral Roberts on the 100th anniversary of his birthday. ORU’s Office of Alumni and Development also held a dinner that evening, with the proceeds going to the new scholarship program. Its continued funding will come through generous donors who have a heart for the University and its mission. All gifts will be matched, dollar to dollar up to $4 million.

In addition to developing intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and physically, students who receive the scholarship must also demonstrate a Christian worldview, lifestyle of service, academic achievement, leadership ability, and healthy habits.

International students can apply for the scholarship as an incoming student or as a current student if their current Quest Scholarship does not cover their tuition and expenses.

“Oral Roberts’s mission was to send students to the uttermost bounds of the earth. We’ve been doing that for 50 years,” said Laura Bishop, Vice-President of University Development and Alumni Relations. “Now it’s time to bring them to ORU from the uttermost bounds so they can take God’s healing power back to their home countries.”
