Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University is excited to welcome Dr. David Trobisch to the ORU campus for a special lecture series. Dr. Trobisch is the Director of Collections at the Museum of the Bible, which is set to open this fall in Washington DC.

“From His Own Eyes: The First-Hand Account of Paul’s Conversion” is a free lecture set for March 30, 2017 at ORU’s Global Learning Center. By focusing on 2 Corinthians 12, Dr. Trobisch explores the Apostle Paul’s letters to help explain one of Christianity’s most famous conversions.

Dr. Trobisch was born and raised in Cameroon, West Africa the son of missionaries. He studied Protestant Theology at the University of Tübingen and Heidelberg University in Germany. He earned the Doctor of Theology Habilitation from Heidelberg University. David’s scholarly work concentrates on the letters of Paul, the formation of the Christian Bible, performance of texts in antiquity and New Testament manuscripts. He taught New Testament at the Universities of Heidelberg, Yale Divinity School, and Bangor Theological Seminary finishing his teaching career at the rank of full professor holding a named chair. He chaired the section “Working with Biblical Manuscripts,” for the international meetings of the Society of Biblical Literature from 2002 to 2009.

As Director of Collections at the Museum of the Bible, Dr. Trobisch gives overall direction to the curatorial team, advises on and facilitates new acquisitions for the collection, and develops strategic partnerships with various institutions in the United States, Europe, and abroad for acquisitions and exhibitions.
