Tulsa OK – Oral Roberts University is pleased to announce the promotion of James D. Smith to ORU Director of Marketing. Smith led the ORU Mabee Center Marketing Department for seven years before accepting this new role.
“James has done an outstanding job leading marketing at the Mabee Center; seeing growth year over year,” said Ossie Mills, ORU Vice President of Communications and Marketing. “I am confident that James will take our marketing business and concept development to a new level, creating effective brand awareness and management, digital approaches and important measurement and analysis.”
Smith, who was born in England and raised in Tulsa, graduated from Tulsa’s Memorial High School and Northeastern State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. He brings a wealth of experience to his new position with 30 years of professional marketing in the Tulsa area.
“I am honored to serve ORU’s marketing efforts in this way,” said Smith. “My goal is to build a strong, creative team that will expand ORU’s reach within the United States and globally as ORU provides a whole person education to impact the world with God’s healing.”
Active in the Tulsa community, Smith serves as President of his homeowner’s association, is an active member of his church, an accomplished chef, business owner and long-time volunteer of numerous Tulsa charitable organizations.
