Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University will cut the ribbon on its new Global Learning Center, Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 at 12:30pm. Join us as we demonstrate how augmented and virtual reality learning will change the education landscape.

ORU is on the cutting edge of taking new technologies and incorporating them in the classroom. The university redesigned more than 50,000 square feet of space in the former Baby Mabee into an immersive learning experience with smart classrooms, virtual and augmented reality, robotics and a state-of-the-art performance studio.

The $8 million, debt-free Global Learning Center will turn ORU from strictly a university in Tulsa into a global university that is based in Tulsa. While 33% of Americans have some sort of higher education degree, in the world as a whole that number is only 6%. ORU expects to change that by reducing the barriers for entry for prospective students around the world.

“There’s no other university doing what we’re doing,” said Mike Mathews, ORU’s Associate Vice President of Technology and Innovation. “We can move people at the speed of light to join the campus here and engage in learning and never leave their home.”

If you plan on joining us for a tour of the facility and experience virtual and augmented reality for yourselves, please park on the east side of the Mabee Center at 81st and Lewis.
