New Alumni Board Chair Elected

Tulsa, OK - Oral Roberts University’s Alumni Association Board of Directors recently elected a new chairman. Johnie Hampton is a 1991 graduate of the College of Business. He’s the CEO of Hampton Creative, a successful ad agency based in Tulsa that provides brand development, website design, event planning, social media strategy and more. His company has been recognized as one of Tulsa’s fastest-growing privately-held businesses.
Hampton’s heart is to serve well. “I’ve always trusted in Psalm 37:23 which says, ‘The steps of the righteous are ordered of the Lord,’” he said. “I cannot be more thankful for all that God allows our agency to touch and the impact we’ve been able to make -- very humbling.”
Hampton Creative’s team has helped raise tens of millions of dollars for nonprofits and parachurch organizations. Hampton said he expects to use those skills “to help lead the Alumni Board as it works diligently to promote and support my alma mater.”
Hampton succeeds Chris Busch as chair. “At the close of this chapter in my service to ORU, I am so pleased that Johnie Hampton was selected by the board to succeed me,” Busch said. “We’ve collaborated for years on a lot of alumni business, and he is certainly ready for this leadership role and to guide the Alumni Board into an ever more promising future.”
In reflecting on his service to the board, Busch said, “What a season it has been for me to serve. Along with 24 outstanding board members, we witnessed our alma mater rescued, stabilized, and relaunched into a new golden age of growth and global impact. Our thriving alumni nation continues to forge its mark in every person’s world, and the current student body promises to contribute some of the most amazing alums yet.”
The mission of the Oral Roberts University Alumni Association is to support the university and serve its alumni. The board supports the university by promoting interest in, securing financial commitment for, and advancing the accomplishment of the mission of ORU. It serves the alumni by providing information, programs, and activities that encourage them to fulfill their calling to "go into every person's world" with the light and healing power of God.
