Developing Whole Leaders for the whole World

ORU Online Agreement Benefits Students

Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University is excited to announce an association that expands its online learning reach. ORU is now a participant in the NC-SARA (National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements) initiative. The acceptance allows ORU to offer online courses in all member states, currently 42, bringing our total to 48 states. Previously, the university was approved to operate in only 28 states. That came after a long process of getting approval in each of those states. NC-SARA simplifies that process and reduces the cost for ORU. Among member states there are comparable national standards for offering interstate postsecondary distance education courses and programs.

ORU’s Dean of Online Learning, Sergio Matviuk Ph.D., said “It’s great for the student because it expands access to quality education offerings, enhances the overall quality of distance education and reduces costs for students.”

“This is a big milestone for the university,” said ORU Provost, Kathaleen Reid-Martinez, Ph.D. “This agreement will allow students in other states to enroll in online courses and benefit from ORU’s mission to build Spirit-empowered leaders through whole person education to impact the world with God’s healing power.”
