"Raise Your Voice"

Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University students are getting politically involved through “Raise Your Voice”. ORU’s Honors Program is hosting an event Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 7:00pm to remind students of their civic duty to vote, assist them in registering to vote and give them a forum to ask questions of elected officials and government experts.

Curtis Ellis, Ph.D, chair of ORU’s History, Humanities and Government Department will introduce the evening by speaking on civic millennial participation and engagement and then emcee a panel conversation between students and special guests.

They include the former chair of the Tulsa County Democratic Party Keith McArtor, Democrat State Representative-elect Monroe Nichols, Republican State Representatives Chuck Strohm and Pam Peterson and former District Attorney Tim Harris.

The event will be held on campus in Timko Barton Hall. If you are interested in coming to talk to students about the importance of registering to vote, please call us. We’ll help you find the event on campus and make sure you have what you need to tell a good story.
