ORU Welcomed Record Number of Students to College Weekend

Oral Roberts University (ORU) welcomed a record number of high school students from around the world to their campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma for College Weekend. The academic institution hosted 532 prospective students who hail from 39 states, as well as Bulgaria, Canada, England, Honduras, Mexico, Norway, Paraguay, Puerto Rico and Sweden.

“ORU offers a unique approach to education that is attracting students from around the globe,” said ORU President William M. Wilson. “We are excited for the many advancements coming to ORU and look forward to seeing our campus continue to grow.”

“This weekend was an exciting time of fun and exploring college life for attendees,” said ORU Vice President of Enrollment Management Nancy Brainard. “It was a pleasure and an honor to welcome all these wonderful families to our campus.”

Students attending College Weekend had the opportunity to experience campus life, meet faculty and current students, attend classes and experience an ORU chapel service.

“I loved this event (College Weekend) because I really did feel the presence of God in the chapel,” said college weekend attendee Raychel Risner. “I found feelings I haven't felt for a long time and I was able to enjoy being in the presence of people who appreciate and love God as much as I do! The President of ORU was an amazing speaker and I look forward to seeing him again!”

I was able to meet so many new people and learn more about the programs that I am interested in,” said attendee Anna Mueller. “ … I was able to make further connections. I also met my future roommate!”
