ORU Faculty Member Recognized in NerdScholar’s 2015 Edition of “40 Under 40: Professors Who Inspire”

David BurkusOral Roberts University Associate Professor of Management David Burkus was recognized in NerdScholar's 2015 edition of “40 Under 40: Professors Who Inspire.”

“I am honored to be included on this list as a professor who inspires,” said Burkus. “My favorite part about teaching is giving students a framework for understanding their experiences at work and to make better decisions in their future work. I hope that my teaching and writing about management contributes to a larger goal of making the working world better.”

Those included on NerdScholar's list of “40 Under 40: Professors Who Inspire” do more than teach. They leave impressions on the lives of their students and change the way they think.

Burkus earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2005 from ORU. He double majored in writing and organizational communication. In 2008, he received a Master of Arts in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Oklahoma. Burkus earn his Doctorate of Strategic Leadership in 2012 from Regent University. He has also received recognition for his book “The Myths of Creativity,” which highlights the processes that drive innovation and ways to overcome obstacles to find new ideas. His new book, titled “Under New Management,” will be released in March 2016.
