ORU to Hold Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New International Center
Oral Roberts University is revealing a new International Center on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014. ORU President and First Lady William M. and Lisa Wilson will participate in a formal dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony at 2:30 p.m. underneath the east wing of ORU’s Claudius Roberts residence hall.
After the dedication and ribbon cutting, the International Center will host an open
house for the ORU community until 4:30 p.m. The new International Center was created
to accommodate an influx of international students attending ORU from globalization
efforts.
This fall, the university admitted international students from more than 80 countries.
The new International Center will help these international students acclimate to ORU’s
Tulsa campus, share information about global cultures with the student body and provide
global learning opportunities abroad.
Online learning opportunities and international partnerships are a crucial component
to the success of ORU’s globalization efforts. The university is working to increase
their presence to include every inhabited continent and to fulfill the global mandate
of ORU by expanding access to a Whole Person Education to students worldwide.
To help attract new students, Oral Roberts University has created five new degree
programs focusing on the global marketplace. New degrees include English Language Teaching in the Global Classroom, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Global Ministry and the Marketplace, Global Studies with a concentration in Latin America, the Middle East, or Asia and Social Justice.
