ORU Named Best Delegation at Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature Competition
The Oral Roberts University chapter of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature (OIL) won 14 awards at the annual competition held in the state capital. The team was recognized as the overall best delegation as well as the best delegation in the House of Representatives and second best delegation in the Senate. A number of individual awards were also presented to ORU students.
OIL was established in 1969. It is the largest and one of the oldest student legislatures in the United States. The competition allows student to learn about Oklahoma’s legislative and political processes as well as servant leadership. Students may participate in the House of Representatives, Senate, executive branch, Supreme Court, and most recently, the OIL press corps.
