Scholarship Renamed to the Quest Whole Person Scholarship Program

Quest Whole Person ScholarshipThe wildly popular Whole Person Scholarship is being renamed to the Quest Whole Person Scholarship program. The program offers up to a $20,000 scholarship for students to receive an ORU education. Chancellor Roberts first presented the concept of a "quest for wholeness" at the inception of the university.

“Incorporating Chancellor Roberts’ original concept of the ‘quest for wholeness’ opens up the scholarship program to more students by recognizing wholeness is something we are all working toward,” said ORU President William M. Wilson. “We are looking for the best candidates from around the globe that are passionately pursuing wholeness in their spirit, mind and body. These students realize that attending ORU will prepare them for a lifetime of impacting their world.”

The Quest Whole Person Scholarship was created in 2008 by a matching grant offered by the Green family from Oklahoma City. The scholarship is a way for ORU to seek out and educate students who exemplify a whole person lifestyle in that they are desirous of developing not just intellectually, but emotionally, spiritually and physically.

Nominations for the Quest Whole Person Scholarship are open to freshmen and transfer students planning to attend ORU in the fall of 2014. Students can be nominated by school, church and community leaders, or an ORU alumnus, faculty or staff member.

The university recently launched a new website in an effort to streamline the nomination process. Students may send requests for nomination for the Quest Whole Person Scholarship program to their pastor, school administrator or local officials. To request a nomination or nominate a student, visit

Scholarships range from $5,000 to $20,000. Scholarship recipients will demonstrate the following: Christian Worldview, Lifestyle of Service, Academic Achievement, Leadership Ability, Vision to Make a Life-Changing Impact on Others and a Healthy Lifestyle.
