ORU Alumnus to Play Tribute Concert for Former US President Jimmy Carter

David OsborneOral Roberts University Alumnus David Osborne played a tribute concert to celebrate former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s 89th birthday. The tribute concert was held at Jackson Performance Hall in Americus, Ga. on October 5, 2013.

President Carter turned 89 on October 1, 2013. The concert showcased the American song book that Osborne presents nightly at his performance venue, The Bellagio Hotel and Resort, Las Vegas, Nev.

Osborne has performed nearly every year on President Carter's birthday for the last three decades. Internationally known bassist Danny DeMorales, Las Vegas, Nev. joined Osborne as well as Scott Berry, a well-known trumpet player who performed for Carter in 1999 at the 75th celebration, also assisted Osborne in the program.

The Los Angeles Music Awards honored Osborne with a fame star in Hollywood and Concert Pianist of the Year, 2012.Osborne counts in an honor and privilege to have a close relationship with President Carter.

"One of the things for which I'm truly thankful is that one of the greatest pianists in the world is my good friend for 27 years, David Osborne," said Jimmy Carter.
