Canadian Trumpeter Dave Brown to Perform at ORU Inauguration

Dave BrownOral Roberts University has announced musician Dave Brown as a special performer at the ORU Inauguration Ceremony. The ceremony for ORU’s fourth president, Dr. William M. Wilson, will take place Friday, Sept. 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the ORU Mabee Center.

The ceremony is expected to be the destination for people from all corners of the globe. Brown will be performing during a special presentation of flags highlighting countries from around the world.

Brown “The Gospel Trumpet Player” has become a well-known musician and worship leader in the gospel music community. His dynamic and soulful style of trumpet playing includes elements of contemporary Christian, traditional gospel and gospel jazz styles. In addition to playing the trumpet, Brown is also a singer who often leads worship while playing his trumpet.

During his years of ministry, Brown has had the opportunity to share the stage with many notable worship artists including Alvin Slaughter, Martha Munizzi, Phil Driscoll, Fred Hammond, CeCe Winans as well as Shirley Ceaser, Yolanda Adams and the Toronto Mass Choir to name a few.

Over the past 15 years, Brown has functioned in various ministry positions including National Music Director for the Church of God of Prophecy in eastern Canada, Music Director at his local church and manager of a community based youth choir.

Brown is currently promoting his debut CD “Instrument of Worship”, produced by award winning producers Roy Oommen and Samuel Williams.
