ORU Hosts 14th Annual Midwest Harp Festival

Midwest Harp FestivalOral Roberts University hosted the 14th annual Midwest Harp Festival July 21-27, 2013. The week-long festival included workshops, seminars, competitions and concerts.

The festival will feature guest faculty members from around the nation including: Mary Bircher, principle harpist with the Omaha Symphony and Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra; David Ice, principal harp with the Musica Nova Symphony in Scottsdale, Ariz.; Jan Jennings, music review editor for “Harp Column” magazine; Elizabeth Richter, professor of harp at Ball State University; Faye Seeman, principal harpist at the Chicago Sinfonietta and Joffrey Ballet Orchestra; and Peter Wiley, famously known as “The Harp Doctor.” The festival will also feature special guest artist Becky Nissen, principal harpist with the Long Bay Symphony in Myrtle Beach.
