New Trustees and Start Date for President Announced

Oral Roberts University is welcoming six new Board of Trustee members, many of which are alumni. The new members were voted onto the Board at the recent Trustees meetings. The Board also announced Dr. Billy Wilson will begin as president on June 03, 2013.

The new Board of Trustee members include: Daniel de Leon, pastor at Templo Calvario in Santa Ana, Calif.; Holly Moore, vice president of Growing Leaders; Eko Nugroho, owner and founder of Dreamlight Studios and Dreamlight World Media; Matt Rearden, associate general counsel for SeaWorld Park & Entertainment, Inc; Neal Stenzel, CFO at Callidus Technologies; and Mark Sterns, founder, co-owner, and president of Higher Power Aviation.

De Leon has pastored Templo Calvario in Santa Ana, Calif. for the past 36 years. Under his guidance, the church has grown into one of the largest bi-lingual Hispanic congregations in the U.S. He has served on numerous boards including: Mission America, International Center for Spiritual Renewal, E21Global, the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, Promise Keepers and the ORU Board of Reference. He is also the Chairman of the Board for the E21Hispanic Congress and is Founder and president of the Hispanic Association for Bilingual Bicultural Ministries. His book “Siete Pecados Capitales de los Padres” was featured on the Barnes and Nobles Top Ten Sellers List in Spanish Christian literature.

Moore graduated from ORU in 1986 with a degree in nursing. She has over 10 years of executive experience with non-profit organizations and is currently the vice president of Growing Leaders. Growing Leaders is a non-profit organization which provides leadership training to the next generation. Under Moore’s leadership, Growing Leaders has doubled in size and scope over the past five years serving more than 7000 schools, universities, non-profit organizations and businesses throughout the world. Moore has served on the board of Eagle Ranch Children’s Home and is currently serving on the ORU Alumni Association Board.

Nugroho graduated from ORU with a degree in management information systems as well as a Masters of Business Administration. In 1996, he began a multimedia production company in Indonesia called Anak Terang Indonesia, which produced a variety of Christian Media for children including: books, daily devotionals, video games, computer programs, audio stories, music, VCDs, and animated Bible stories. Nugroho has several other production companies including Dreamlight Studios, Dreamlight World Media and Dreamtoon. He also founded a media school called Dreamlight World Media Academy.

Rearden graduated from ORU in 1997 with a degree in finance. He also earned a J.D. from Florida State University in 2001. He is currently the Associate General Counsel for SeaWorld Park & Entertainment, Inc. in Orlando, Fla. He previously worked with International Speedway Corporation and NASCAR. He has been a member of the ORU Alumni Association Board of Directors since 2008 and was elected chairman in 2010. As the current chair, he was selected to be a part of the recent ORU Presidential Search Committee.

Stenzel graduated from ORU in 1987 with a degree in accounting. He formerly served as the CFO for Callidus Technologies as well as the secretary and treasurer for the Callidus Board of Directors. Stenzel was also employed at Ernst and Young as well as Braden Manufacturing in Owasso, Okla. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Believers Church and  GammaBrite.

Sterns graduated from ORU with a degree in business administration as well as an MBA. He is the founder, co-owner, and president of Higher Power Aviation in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas. Higher Power Aviation is an FAA approved training center established for Boeing, Airbus and other jet aircraft. In 2009, Sterns and his wife, Paula, were honored as Alumni of the Year in Service to Alma Mater. He currently serves on the board of Mastermedia International, a ministry to media leaders in Hollywood and New York.

The Board of Trustee meetings also marked a first for ORU, Mr. Stan Burgess completed his term becoming the first Trustee Emertus.
